Acharya Patashala Polytechnic was established in the year 1958 by the Acharya Patashala association with the abler initiative of late Sri. N. Ananth Aachar, the founder secretary. Establishment of polytechnic was the result of government of India policy under second five-year plan, as per the guidelines of the Directorate of Technical Education, Government of Karnataka. The institution is not confined to imparting technical knowledge alone. The students have the benefits of extracurricular and co-curricular activities throughout the year. As such it has activity NCC & NSS units, sports and cultural activities throughout the year.

Another unique feature of our polytechnic is the establishment of an extension service called Community Development through polytechnic under the initiative if Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD).

Our polytechnic has a reservoir of alumni who have passed out and are placed in very important position in various engineering establishments across the country and in-fact all over the world.

The institution has produced several students who through their outstanding contribution in engineering & industry have made a mark and they unfailingly attribute their success to alma mater.

The polytechnic campus itself is an island in the midst of green environs of Ananth Jnana Gangothri, a sprawling green campus of over 100acres. The students and the staff are indeed blessed with unique eco-friendly situation of the polytechnic which has made every visitor carry green memories of a renowned technical school in a rural setting, not far away from every growing metropolis of Bengaluru.
