Mechanical Engineering

Mechanical Engineering department started in the A.P.S. POLYTECHNIC during the year 1958, Celebrated Golden jubilee in the year 2008.Mechanical Engineering, the branch of engineering concerned with the design, manufacturing, installation and operation of engines and machines and with manufacturing process.

The Department is well equipped with all resources. Vast experienced faculty members having excelled qualification Doctorate, Masters and with basic graduation in Mechanical Engineering. Good qualified and experienced supporting staff having expertise knowledge in machines and in their concerned workshops and Laboratories.

The Alumnae of our Department placed in National and International companies rendering services for the betterment of society. Many of our Alumnae have become entrepreneurs and offered jobs for our students.All faculty members are expertise in teaching learning methods to inculcate excel Engineering knowledge concept and to develop the students to make them competitive to explore opportunities in all fields.

The mission of the Mechanical Engineering Program is to benefit the society at large by

M1: Imparting quality technical education to students by providing excellent Teaching learning Environment and through competitive curriculum in collaboration with industry.
M2: Able to apply basic and contemporary science, engineering and innovative skills to identify problems in the industry and academia and be able to develop practical solution to them
M3: Providing experiences in leadership, teamwork, communications — oral, written and hands-on activities, with the help of structured and unstructured real life projects.
M4: Encouraging ethical values and leadership abilities in the minds of students so as to work towards the growth of the society

PSO1	Apply concepts in core areas of Mechanical engineering – Hydraulics and fluid power, management Systems, Mechanics of machines and thermal Engineering to solve technical issues.

PSO1	To prepare students for successful careers in industry to meet changing demands of their profession and in still a desire to learn continuously
PSO2	To provide students a strong foundation in mathematics, science, and sound basic theoretical knowledge along with required practical skills in the core areas of Mechanical Engineering to demonstrate technical excellence
PSO3	To inculcate team work capabilities and communication skills among students through Seminars, projects, and industry interactions.
